Character Fair 2008

You probably know that Isaac loves all thing "Titanic". He became fascinated by the story of the Titanic about a year ago when he saw parts of James Cameron's now famous movie from about a decade ago. Since then we have acquired quite an extensive personal library of Titanic related books and videos. Earlier this year, Isaac's class did a unit about the Titanic, and he had to write a report. We decided to expand on his report by adding some additional facts we found, as well as some photographs & related artwork, and turn it into the power point slide show. He submitted the finished product for his school "Character Fair", which was held on April 24th. I have posted the slide show for your enjoyment. After starting the slide presentation, be sure to start playing the audio file found below the slide show (entitled "Main Theme") to get the full effect. (Just click on the little arrow under the title to get it started.) In the original slide show the music played automatically with the presentation, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to play simultaneously once I had uploaded it to the web, so you will have to start them both yourselves. The slides run a little bit slower on the internet, so the music might finish first -- in the REAL presentation they were timed to start and finish together. Aside from those slight technical glitches (oh, and sometimes slide #13 won't advance on it's own, so you can click the right arrow on the menu at the bottom of the slide show to get it to go to #14), I still think it's wonderful that I can share this with you all in this way. We worked on this program together, and I think I learned just as much as Isaac did (it was the first time I had ever worked with power point!)
